Somebody had better say something.

By somebody, I mean us, those who have believed in the LORD, Jesus Christ. As believers, we should testify to the goodness of the LORD that we have experienced and are experiencing. We have good news; don’t we? Not only do we have the GOOD News of salvation, but we also have the good news of the happenings in our everyday lives.

Psalm 107:1-3 NIV

1 Give thanks to the LORD,

for He is good; His love endures forever.

2 Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story

— those He redeemed from the hand of the foe,

3 those He gathered from the lands,

from east and west, from north and south.

1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!

For His mercy endures forever.

2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,

Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

3 And gather out of the lands,

From the east and from the west,

2 Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out!

Tell others He has redeemed you from your enemies.

3 For He has gathered the exiles from many lands,

from east and west, from north and south.

We should not allow the ways of this world to out talk us. I don’t mean just paint a rosy picture as though everything is always perfect. No, I mean testify to the victories in our lives, the hurdles we have been blessed to overcome, and the manifold blessings that we are privileged to have and enjoy because of God. For example, tell how God helped you to overcome a character flaw or a sin problem. Tell how you maybe went off on someone or got someone told, (now I am sounding really country), or lost your cool, (this sounds better), and the Holy Spirit corrected you such that you had to go to the person(s) you offended and apologize and ask for forgiveness.

Of course, we should testify when it is the other way around, when we have breakthroughs or are the benefactors of a miraculous deliverance out of humanly impossible situations. Let’s just be willing to tell the whole story, when called upon.

People need to know that God is good not just in the extraordinary but also in the ordinary, not just in the external situations but in the internal situations too. There is soooooo... much talk about this and that and the other, but I believe that if we would open our mouths, we would bring glory to God by revealing that God really

does work out everything for our good.

Romans 8:28 (NLT)

28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those

who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

I am not asking us to be guilty of just expressing Christian jargon, like “I am too blessed to be stressed.” While this may very well be true, somebody might need to know how God has helped you overcome what, in reality, may have been very stressful. Then, they will know how you reached the point of being able to make such a declaration.

Be led of the LORD. When He leads you, unashamedly share what He wants you to share to whom He wants you to share it with, so that together, we might testify to the continual, demonstration of His love in our lives.

Have no fear.

Revelations 12:10-11, speaks loudly and should spur us along.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power

and the kingdom of our God,

and the authority of his Messiah.

For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,

who accuses them before our God day and night,

has been hurled down.

11 They triumphed over him

by the blood of the Lamb

and by the word of their testimony;

they did not love their lives so much

as to shrink from death.
